Nice to see producers looking to make quality Carmenère, and this one is a paradigm for the style. Deep ruby-black. Ripe, baked black fruit, espresso, grilled meat and very spicy, but particularly a grilled green pepper note like Padrón peppers in a tapas bar. Full body. Ripe, jammy blackberry and plum fruit, but with lots of soy, grilled meat and Padrón chilli spice savouriness. Moderate, peppery tannins. Quite long. Appealing. 96% Carmenère, 4% Merlot.
