Attractive packaging for an attractive wine. Whilst not quite at the highest quality for Alsace Pinot Gris, this was a good wine, that held its own in an overall good quality semi-aromatic line-up. Classic off-dry / medium, oily, spicy Alsace Pinot Gris, with the streak of acidity of 2008. Mid-deep gold. Ripe, almost confected sweet pear fruit, with some crystal fruit and perhaps ginger – a touch of botrytis perhaps? Broad, moderately spicy aromatics, with earthy minerality. Full-bodied, yellow peach fruit and passionfruit notes. Very spicy mid-palate. Alcohol emerges at the quite long finish. A hint less sweetness would improve this.
