We cracked this for comedy value because it was there and Tim is a 77 baby. It more-or-less met expectations – i.e. over-the-hill and not well cellared, but nevertheless was worth opening. It had taken weeks to settle-out the fine white sediment, but did pour clear in the end. A deep copper colour showed the age of the wine, but it had a marked almost burnt toast note, alongside some residual fruit. Still acidity to balance the medium level of sweetness, but not really holding together too well.
