A random purchase in Banyoles 2002. A “quite” bottle – quite pleasant, quite full-bodied, quite drinkable. Classic deep garnet colour. Strongly oaked aromas which settle into better balance on decanting and further breathing. But only quite balanced – dark, slightly stewed fruit and toasty oak aromas nearly fit. In flavour terms, quite silky – almost Burgundy-like, but a bit over-dominated by oak-related flavours. Also, a bit too acidic, cutting-down what would have been a welcome body.
