The guy who makes this wine is apparently a complete loony. Whatever, it was a very drinkable one. Deep garnet colour with a hint of purple at the edge. Initially aromas of coffee and blackberry, but on standing developed what I initially thought was cedar, but later realised was plantain! Full bodied (14%) and deep flavour but balanced by red-cherry sour tinge. Long and spicy finish. Easy drinking.
[2004: just bought a book of Magritte paintings, and finally understand the extent of the label influence!]
