One for comedy value from Greece. Although in fact was entirely drinkable with an interesting mix of flavours. A little unbalanced by somewhat high acidity, but overall not bad at all. Initial oaky, toasty aromas over raspberry give way to… well… sawdust – hot sawdust from freshly cut hardboard – not at all unpleasant. Red cherry flavours (with the aforementioned acidity) blend into burnt sugar flavours. Deep garnet colour with reasonable alcohol / body. Spiciness matched up to steak, and surprisingly the salt-intensity of feta cheese blended well, to make the wine sweeter!
