A good, solid Cabernet Sauvignon. Missing a little complexity but a fine example of the 1990s investment in Chilean wine-making. Dark, deep colour. Initial aromas of slightly chocolatey-edged blackcurrant jam. Then it became something wood-related and maybe spicy that I couldn’t quite place. Slightly cigar-box. I guess that this is the aroma of “cedar” noted on the back-label – an interesting learning point. Gently tannic warm flavours with some body and a notable acidity. Just lacking a bit of flavour complexity and length.
