Found this wine for sale in a bar near the producer’s site in Burgundy. Gets 2 stars in the Guide Hachette, and good value. On decanting (small sediment) lots of strawberry aromas given off. Initial drinking was a little lean, but after 30 minutes breathing aromas and flavours developed into a pleasant harmony. Mid-red with some edge-browning (ready to drink?). Aromas of strawberry coated with roast meat or mushroomy compost hints developing – could develop further. Very light silky texture on the tongue with some acid and tanning remaining for a mid-length finish. Very nice – should drink the other bottle soon, though. Matched Boeuf Bourguignonne perfectly!
