That this didn’t show its weighty 16% ABV says much for its quality; the liqueur fruit should perhaps have given it away. Mid-deep ruby. Toasted coconut and creamy vanilla. Almost minty oak. Ripe red and black berry fruit with kirsch notes. Some gentle spice. Ripe, rounded compote berry fruit. Toasty coconut and vanilla mid-palate. Juicy. Some tannic grip. Quite long liqueur fruit finish. Pretty good, and a classic Sonoma Zin, I think.
