Surprisingly hard to get this label off, but this was a really interesting, and characterful Chilean Syrah. Deep ruby-black. Full-on raspberry and blackberry compôte. Black pepper, white pepper ‘rubber’ notes and bacon fat of cooler climate at the same time though. Cinnamon overtones. Sweet, ripe raspberry and smoky chilli pepper. Very spice. Cinnamon toast mid-palate. Medium-full body, moderate ripe and fine tannins, moderate acidity, and full 14.5% alcohol. Quite long. Ambitious.
