This was the odd one out in a vertical of 2008, 2010 and 2011 1er Cru Perrières Nuits-St-Georges. Only the VV villages 2009 was available. Nevertheless, very attractive, and as far as was apparent from these 4 wines, representative of NSG – deep, rich, somewhat darker fruit character. Mid ruby / garnet, with a broad rim. Lifted, very aromatic, with depth of rounded plum fruit, overlayed with some mocha and cinnamon notes. On the palate, the rich, cakebread-laced black fruit repeats. Medium bodied. Dense fruit, with savoury, grippy undertow, and gravelly minerality. Espresso / mocha finish is long. Nice.
