A nice tawny port, with some elegance, balance and complexity, but not worth £68, with some over-dominance of the oak. Medium tawny, with a medium brick rim. Oak-led, medium+ intensity nose: old leather, vanilla, nutty hints, wax, oak-spice & maybe some black pepper? Raisin, dried cherry and some wild strawberry fruit in the background. Quite complex. Sweet, with medium+ acidity, full-bodied, with medium, spicy oak tannin. High, warming alcohol. Mid-palate of crème de cassis and cooked citrus fruit, with chilli and cinnamon spice notes. Long, nutty, oaky finish. 17 / 20.
