Over dinner with Tracy, I gave her the choice of wine, and this was it. I was a little nervous this might be too young, but in fact it was on song, with a rich, velvety texture and showing plenty of primary fruit alongside spice. Happily, I discovered I have another! Deep ruby – quite youthful. Medium+ intensity black cherry nose, with spice and liquorice, plus meaty, beef stock notes. Fresh, not jammy black cherry palate, again with spice and beef. Full-bodied, medium acidity and ripe, soft tannins. Some smoke on the medium+ length finish. Very enjoyable.
