The first of my case of different Meursaults from the wine shop in Meursault village. Shows the quality of the 2006 vintage for white Burgundy that a village should show so well, and potentially better on day 2. SJ and I really enjoyed this. Mid-depth lemon colour. Quite intense, subtly balanced fruit and oak. Ripe pear and lemon, touches of cream and peach. Toasty notes, with blanched nuts, and some caramel. Ripe, medium-bodied, with full-ish flavours of yellow peach. Lemony acidity. Overtones of honey, with flinty, smoky minerality on the long finish. Very good.
