At last, a nice Barolo. Brought over by Steve Otterburn for Christmas Eve. Barolo is supposed to smell of violets, and this certainly had a perfumed nose, but I’ve never knowingly smelled violets. Coupled with dried cranberries / cherries. Mid-depth garnet with a brick rim. Tannins there, but ripe, not overdone like I’d feared. Full fruit flavour with coconut and chocolate finish. Good length. A credit to Christmas.
